Do You Feel the Power? says Carol

“I can make you rise or fall. I can work for you or against you. I can make you a success or a failure.

I control the way that you feel and the way that you act.

I can make you laugh… work… love.  I can make your heart sing with joy… excitement… elation.

Or I can make you wretched… dejected… morbid.

I can make you sick… listless.

I can be a shackle… heavy… attached… burdensome.

Or I can be as the prism’s hue… dancing… bright… fleeting… lost forever unless captured by pen or purpose.

I can be nurtured and grown to be great and beautiful… seen by the eyes of others through action in you.

I can never be removed… only replaced.

I am a THOUGHT.

Why not know me better?”

By Bob Conklin, an author and successful businessman
This swiftly changing world is causing anxiety for many people. You’ve probably noticed that some employees bring these feelings to work. And these feelings insidiously infiltrate our homes and our neighborhoods. Gain control by regulating your thoughts and, in turn, your actions.

You can make a difference in your professional and personal life by staying positive, upbeat, and resourceful. If there is a problem, and there will be, look at how it can be solved rather than focusing on what’s not working.

Help those around you to be upbeat, too. Give each other excellent customer service. Subsequently, you will treat your customers in an exceptional way that builds loyal customers.

Start by monitoring your thoughts. What are you saying to yourself? How are you saying it? When you make a mistake, do you demean yourself by saying you are stupid. Or is it simply an “oops” in your life and you allow yourself to move on.

I believe we talk to others the way we talk to ourselves. Don’t feed yourself negative thoughts about certain people or situations. That will only bring out negative behavior toward the people and/or happenings.

To be successful, concentrate on controlling what you are thinking not on trying to control someone else. Since we have thousands of thoughts a day, it is important we get to know our thoughts. Keep them on your radar daily rather than let them run free to creating a world in your mind that destroys your life.

How do you control your thoughts? How has it made a difference at work or home? Let me know your thoughts.
