There’s a new resource for businesses in our own backyard called Segway, which stands for Springs Entrepreneurial Gardening. As of March 1, 2010, business owners, as well as those contemplating starting a business, can go to one central location -
www.springssmallbiz.com - to get the precise assistance they need.
Community leaders created Segway to promote entrepreneurship and provide jobs by encouraging citizens to use resources that exist right here in Colorado Springs.
Instead of spending precious time looking up phone numbers and visiting the plethora of business-related Web sites, consumers can go straight to: springsmallbiz.com to get assistance with all types of issues. The Web site visitor simply fills out a brief survey describing the type of help they need. They will then be put in touch with a Segway Garden Team member, who will assist them at no charge.
Community organizations on the Segway Garden team are: City of Colorado Springs, Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau, UCCS College of Business, Pikes Peak Library District, Pikes Peak Workforce Center, Economic Development Center, Small Business Development Center, and SCORE.
There will be a link to the new Segway service on all the Web sites of the organizations that are participating in the project.
